The IN: Connection Project aims to bring together nurses and other professionals working across the spectrum of chronic inflammatory disease in Scotland to share knowledge and peer support.

In: Connection is based on the idea that health conditions are often interconnected and require a holistic approach. This is called ‘One Health.’

The name is derived from the first two letters of inflammatory -‘IN’ disease. This then expanded to ideas of INterconnectedness, INterprofessional collaboration, and INterdisciplinary approaches to whole health.

The name was also to play on the phrase: “in connection with”, as nurses are often the connectors of care for patients.
